In occasione del centenario di Giacomo Puccini, il Teatro alla Scala affida alla sapiente regia di Davide Livermore la messa in scena di Turandot, celebre opera incompiuta del compositore. La scena, affidata allo stesso regista, Eleonora Peronetti e Paolo Gep Cucco (D-Wok) si avvale della magistrale unione di artigianato e tecnologia. La città “tridimensionale” che fa da sfondo alla parabola della principessa cinese viene proiettata su un ledwall di 12 metri per 9. Inoltre, è presente un altro ledwall circolare trasparente dove vengono proiettate le riprese di materiali in hyper slowmotion: liquidi, terre, petali, inchiostri e foglie sono stati ripresi a 1400 frame al secondo all’interno di una sfera per creare un effetto tridimensionale sospeso nel tempo. La scenografia iper tecnologica della Turandot le ha valso dalla stampa il titolo di “Turandot high-tech”, “Turandot 3D”, “Turandot sperimentale e digitale”.

Per questa opera D-Wok vince due premi, un oro e un bronzo, ai BEA WORLD 2024 nelle sezioni Musical Event e Cultural Event.

On the occasion of the centenary of Giacomo Puccini, the Teatro alla Scala entrusted the masterful direction of Davide Livermore with staging Turandot, the famous unfinished opera by the composer. The set, created by Livermore, Eleonora Peronetti, and Paolo Gep Cucco (D-Wok), combines craftsmanship and technology in a brilliant fusion. The “three-dimensional” city that serves as the backdrop for the journey of the Chinese princess is projected on a 12-meter by 9-meter LED wall. Additionally, another transparent circular LED wall displays hyper-slow-motion footage: liquids, earth, petals, inks, and leaves were filmed at 1400 frames per second inside a sphere to create a three-dimensional effect suspended in time. The hyper-technological set design of Turandot earned it titles from the press such as “Turandot high-tech,” “Turandot 3D,” and “Turandot experimental and digital.”

For this production, D-Wok won two awards, a gold and a bronze, at the BEA WORLD 2024 in the Musical Event and Cultural Event categories.
