Das Rheingold – Opéra de Monte-Carlo

L’opera è andata in scena il 19 febbraio 2025 presso la Salle Garnier dell’Opéra de Monte-Carlo, con la regia di Davide Livermore.
La scenografia vanta diverse innovazioni. L’aereo bimotore la cui carcassa viene mostrata in scena è una riproduzione di un Douglas DC3 degli anni ’30, riprodotta fedelmente dal laboratorio di scenografia d’eccellenza Arianese. I video delle scene subacquee, che rappresentano le profondità del Reno, sono stati girati presso The Deep Joy Y-40 a Padova, che vanta una delle piscine più profonde del mondo (42 metri) ed è utilizzata da apneisti e cineasti per film e spot pubblicitari. Il resto delle scenografie digitali, compresi numerosi 3D, sono stati proiettati su due LED, rispettivamente di 13 e 12 metri di larghezza. Una scena imponente per un’opera che è solo l’inizio di un viaggio che attraverserà l’intera tetralogia di Wagner.

The set boasts several innovations. The twin-engine airplane, whose fuselage is shown on stage, is a replica of a 1930s Douglas DC3, faithfully reproduced by the Arianese scenic workshop, known for its excellence. The underwater video scenes, representing the depths of the Rhine, were filmed at The Deep Joy Y-40 in Padua, which boasts one of the deepest swimming pools in the world (42 meters) and is used by freedivers and filmmakers for movies and commercials. The rest of the digital sets, including numerous 3D elements, were projected onto two LED screens, 13 and 12 meters wide, respectively. An imposing scene for an opera that is just the beginning of a journey that will span the entire Wagnerian tetralogy.
